I'm pregnant. With twins. Since I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, it's a minor miracle that I've conceived without medical intervention at all. So I'm delighted, but it definitely was not in the plans for this year.
On a happy note, my ovaries obviously understand that I should have all my medical expenses in one year and get the child tax deductions for 2011 with only 2 months of baby expenses (I'm due Oct 31).
HOWEVER, no one ever explained to me the living hell that is so-called morning sickness. In my case, it's more like 24-hours-a-day-7-days-a-week sickness, and it's akin to having airplane sickness constantly. It's been going on for 3 weeks and my midwife expects that it will only continue for another month or so. Some days it is all I can manage to wipe the vomit off my face before I go back to bed for the rest of the day. So expect sporadic posts from me until life starts revolving less around my proximity to the bathroom facilities.
I wonder what van that was?

congrats on your babies!!! i had terrible morning sickness with my first son where i would honestly lay on the bathroom floor. I got a ton of advice like eat crackers before getting out of bed which of course i would throw up once i got out of bed!!! i thought it would never end but thank god it did! it won't last forever take care!
ReplyDeleteHoly Mackeral!! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm really sorry about the morning/forever sickness, I hope it resolves soon. (fingers very very crossed for you)
Congratulations! How exciting! (Sorry, I haven't visited your blog in a while, but what a great post to catch up on!)
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI hope that the morning sickness clears up soon :)
Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you and your family!!
ReplyDeleteSaltines worked for me when I had morning sickness.. it really took the edge off!
Congratulations!!! How absolutely wonderful. Morning sickness is an awful thing. However, I just looked at it as an indication that the pregnancy was going well. That perception came because I had zero morning sickness during my first pregnancy and I lost that baby. So, when I was sick with the other 3, I was kind of grateful because it just made me feel like things were going ok.
ReplyDeleteOh, also, the prenatal vitamins made me throw up too. I had to switch to a couple different vitamins and take it before bed to keep it down.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the babies. Sorry about the vomiting. Not fun. I sit next to someone at work on her second pregnancy and she's healthy as a horse! Never sick for even a second. I guess it just depends on the person.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Congratulations!! Do you have any kids now? Salt & Vinegar chips are supposed to help with naseau... (I know not really healthy, but desperate times call for desperate measures!) ;)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I, too, hope that your "morning" sickness subsides soon, sounds awful! But how exciting! Best wishes :)
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS! I wish my wife gave me twins news one day... you are sooo lucky!!!

Oh wow! Congrats on the babies! That is such a miracle!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd YUCK - that morning sickness sounds TERRIBLE!
Morning sickness is really a sickness. If women ran the world, you'll probably get maternity leave option during the first trimester. I lost at least 10 pounds and could barely function!
ReplyDeleteMy twin girls are 4 years old now. BE prepared for double the work in the first year, it will be hard but well worth it as in the end you are getting 2 for 1. One they pass 2 years you will be glad you had twins!
ReplyDeleteWow - Congratulations! I took a break from doing taxes to catch up on my blog reading and I couldn't be happier for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! And twins! Twice the sleeplessness, twice the diapers...
ReplyDeleteHope you get over the morning sickness soon.
That's wonderful!!! I hope the rest of your pregnancy is more pleasant :)
ReplyDeleteHoly Moly. I guess I have some major news to catch up on. Babci is a twin and I secretly hoped for twins (despite knowing what hell it would be at first) because she has such a special bond with her sister.
ReplyDeleteWow. Congrats on so many levels.
Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteA late congratulations to you!!
